RANGE: North east British Columbia across
southern Canada to the East coast and south to Georgia. It
winters in M. America and to south U.S. Migrates east of the
Rocky mountains, small numbers occur on the west coast. Most
occurrences in take place during the spring months.
STATUS: Not a protected species.
HABITAT: Riparian thickets, brushy clearcuts, open deciduous
woodlands and borders
NEST: Nest is loosely constructed of fine plant material
Frequent cowbird host, will destroy cowbird eggs at bottom of
nest
FOOD: Insects, and berries when insects are scarce.
